During Daniel Taub’s four year tenure as the ambassador of Israel the trade between the United Kingdom and Israel has doubled. There was an announcement made in the United Kingdom by the Israeli Embassy that Daniel Taub will be resigning over the summer.

The four years Ambassador Taub has devoted to his post has been a large part of why trade has doubled. According to a statement that came from the Israeli embassy he has significantly deepened the business, academic, and cultural links between Israel and the United Kingdom.

Sajid Javid is the Secretary of State for Skills, Innovation, and Business in Britain. In a statement he made at the British Israeli Business Awards earlier in the month he spoke to the audience about trade. He believes the trade between Israel and the United Kingdom is in a golden era.

According to the Israel-Britain Chamber of Commerce the United Kingdom has become the home for more than 300 Israeli businesses. The annual trade has reached in excess of $5.5 billion although Sajid Javid believes it is much closer to $7 billion.

Daniel Taub was born in the United Kingdom and in 2011 he became an ambassador for Israel. At one point in time he took the role of a peace negotiator and went to Northern Ireland to learn from what was happening in the country.

During an interview with the Jewish Chronicle in 2012 Daniel Taub spoke of his concerns regarding the atmosphere present on some of the college campuses. He gave a warning to the college administrators as to the importance of every view including those that supported Israel being able to be freely expressed without the fear or worry of intimidation.

Daniel Taub visited Bradford in 2014. This was in defiance of a city represenitive named George Galloway using the words Israel-free zone in his description of the area. There has been no announcement as to who will be his successor.

Daniel Taub is a highly educated man who was schooled at the University College in London, the University College in Oxford, and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. In 1989 he relocated to Israel and joined the Israel Defense Forces. He served as a reserve officer in the internal law division and as a combat medic.

In 1991 he started working for the Israeli Foreign Ministry and has held a wide variety of diplomatic and legal posts. Between the years of 2011 and 2015 he was the United Kingdoms Israeli Ambassador. Daniel Taub is currently serving the Yad Hanadiv foundation as their Director of Planning and Strategy.
